Every year, the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) brings advocates together to champion issues affecting blind Americans. At the 2025 Washington Seminar, members of the National Federation of the Blind of Pennsylvania (NFB of PA) will join this effort, meeting with our 17 Representatives in the House and two Senators to advocate for transformative legislation.
The 2025 Legislative Priorities
Pennsylvanians will spotlight three critical issues:
- Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act: Mandating nonvisual accessibility for digital platforms to ensure blind individuals can fully engage with education, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
- Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act: Requiring medical devices, like glucose monitors, to be accessible so blind individuals can independently manage their health.
- Blind Americans Return to Work Act: Eliminating barriers and disincentives that prevent blind Americans from achieving gainful employment.
