And the NFB of PA will be well represented in the Lone Star State.

Unleashing Talent: Angelina Defies Blindness in Captivating Lion King Jr Performance

You may have heard Angelina singing the National Anthem at State or National Convention or you may have enjoyed her performances at the affiliate piano bar.  Now she is taking her talent to the community theater.  Angelina does not let her total blindness stop her creative passion, and she has found a place to showcase her talent at the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale PA.

Greater Philly Member LyVette Byrd Featured in Article

LyVette Byrd, a former Philadelphia counselor, suddenly lost her vision in 2017. As a result, she had to navigate life as a blind person, facing unique challenges. Byrd sought help from government agencies but encountered limited success. She struggled to adapt to her new circumstances, ultimately leaving her job. Attempts to obtain resources for reentering the workforce were hindered by funding constraints. Byrd also sought medical insurance and applied for Social Security disability benefits to avoid falling into depression.
