Best Western Premier Harrisburg Step-by-Step

An Overview of the Best Western Premier

Best Western Premier Hotel
800 East Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA

This guide provides detailed navigation and descriptions of the hotel’s layout, including lobby directions, sleeping room locations, dog guide relief areas, and pathways to key amenities and meeting rooms.

Lobby Description

The lobby of the Best Western Premier is rectangular, with the eastern and western walls being slightly shorter. The main entrance is in the east wall, and the front desk runs along the southern wall.

A sunken atrium occupies most of the center, bordered by a low, rough brick planter wall. The wall varies from about 18 inches to 3 feet in height and includes two small stairways (four steps each) and a ramp near the southwestern corner.

Unless seeking lobby seating, it is recommended to stay on the walkways along the eastern, southern, and western sides. The northern end is partially blocked by furniture and a gate.

  • Steps into the atrium are approximately 20 feet west of the main entrance.
  • The ramp is located at a break in the brick wall offset from the southwestern corner.

Four hallways exit the lobby:

  • Two to the south – lead to sleeping rooms
  • One to the west – leads to the main ballroom and central conference rooms
  • One to the north – leads to the restaurant

Doorways to three smaller meeting rooms are in the rear/western wall of the lobby. Facing the doorways from left to right (south to north), they are: VIP, Cameron, and Harris.

Lobby Entrance to Front Desk

The lobby doorway consists of a set of outer and inner automatic doors separated by a narrow vestibule, centered in the east wall.

  1. Enter through the inner doors and walk forward 6 feet over a carpeted area.
  2. When the floor surface changes from carpet to tile, turn left.
  3. Walk forward 28 feet to the southeastern corner of the lobby.
  4. Turn right and walk forward 25 feet — the center of the front desk will be on your left.

Note: Three large square supporting pillars bisect the walkway along the southern end of the lobby. Keep to the outer edge when traversing this area.

Dog Guide Relief Area

The dog guide relief area is located just south (to the right) of the hotel entrance when facing east away from the hotel.

  1. Exit the front entrance and follow the walkway 20 feet east to the driveway/parking lot area.
  2. Stay to the right edge of the walkway where there is a support pillar with planters and a mulch-covered area with short bushes.
  3. At the end of the walkway (where the surface changes from concrete pavers to blacktop), turn right and walk south.
  4. If you step on mulch, move slightly left until you are back on the blacktop.
  5. Proceed forward past the trash receptacle, then turn right and guide your dog up onto the curb and into the grass.

An audible signal generator will be mounted on the trash receptacle, and extra pickup bags are available at the front desk.
