David B. Goldstein, 1st Vice President

David’s been chasing opportunity since most kids his age were chasing soccer balls at summer camp. Growing up in and around his parents’ supermarkets in the Philadelphia area, he learned business fundamentals before he graduated high school. By 21, when most people were still figuring out what they wanted to do, David opened his first business: a neighborhood video store in 1986. The storefront happened to be in one of his family’s commercial properties, right next to the market where he worked as a kid.
For 13 years, David ran the video store, turning it into more than just a place to rent movies. He became a familiar voice on Philadelphia radio, hosting a weekly Thursday morning segment on new video releases, industry trends, and the buzz around upcoming award shows. His reach extended beyond that too, writing and voicing radio spots for other stations in Philly and Wilmington, Delaware.
In 2004, David pivoted into digital marketing, co-founding Digital Graphics Design. The agency focused on helping small businesses and solopreneurs build their brands and expand their online footprint. From website design and SEO to online ads and web hosting, David’s team helped hundreds of clients grow in the digital age. Today, while the agency still operates, David primarily serves clients in a consulting capacity—offering strategy and insight grounded in years of experience across multiple industries.
But David didn’t stop there. Along with his wife, Elizabeth, he spent a decade running a beauty supply and salon equipment company. They didn’t just sell salon furniture—they manufactured it. Their client base stretched from New York to Virginia, with custom orders rolling in from salon owners looking for high-quality, American-made products.
In 2018, David launched the iCantCU Podcast, a personal project with a powerful message. Born with congenital glaucoma, David’s had 18 surgeries—10 of them before the age of three—in attempts to preserve what vision he had. Today, as a blind entrepreneur, he uses the podcast to share stories about the daily challenges he faces, how he solves problems, and how blindness reshapes, but never defines, his life. The podcast aims to break down misconceptions about blindness, showing sighted listeners that blind people do most of the same things—they just do them differently. iCantCU is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, Audacy, and nearly every major podcast platform, as well as at www.iCantCU.com.
David’s commitment to the blind community goes beyond the mic. In addition to serving as the First Vice President of the affiliate, he also serves as Treasurer for the Keystone Chapter and Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Association of Blind Merchants. He is also co-host and producer of White Canes Connect, the podcast of the NFB of PA
From retail to radio, digital marketing to podcasting, David’s journey has been about adapting, learning, and finding new ways to connect with people—whether they’re customers, listeners, or fellow advocates.
